About
Veronica earned her Pharmacy degree from Valencia University, Spain, in 2002, before commencing her career as a hospital pharmacist in Surrey in 2003. She later returned to Spain with a grant to work in the Pharmacy Consultancy department at a university hospital, where she enhanced prescribing pathways in a haemodialysis unit and spearheaded a project on patient discharge processes. Her contributions included participation in the development of various guidelines and publication of a chapter in the Pharmacotherapy Quality book edited by Professor Victor Jimenez Torres in 2006.
Transitioning to the UK, Veronica worked as a Medical Information Specialist for a named patient supplier before consolidating her role as a Hospital Pharmacist in 2008. Concurrently, she pursued remote studies for a Master’s in Pharmacotherapeutic Quality and Safety from Valencia University. Veronica furthered her qualifications as an Independent Prescriber in paediatric asthma through Kings College, London, and completed her PhD on ‘improving the quality and safety of paediatric prescriptions at discharge’ while working in the paediatric Cystic Fibrosis department at Barts Health NHS Trust.

Research interests
Veronica's doctoral research was recognized with distinction (Cum Laude) by Valencia University following international review. In her clinical role at one of East London's largest Trusts, she actively engaged in postgraduate teaching for Medway School of Pharmacy and the schools of Health Sciences at the Universities of Kent and Greenwich. Additionally, Veronica contributed to OSCE assessments for Diploma students at UCL School of Pharmacy.
With a keen interest in quality improvement and patient safety, Veronica has led numerous projects and clinical audits. She is passionate about integrating genomic medicine into clinical practice to enhance safety, with a particular focus on addressing antimicrobial resistance. Currently, she serves as Consultant Pharmacist in Antimicrobial Stewardship at East Kent University Hospitals NHS Trust and as a Lecturer and Research Pharmacist at Medway School of Pharmacy.
Veronica's research spans safe prescribing in women and children, with a focus on infectious diseases, antimicrobials and genomics. Her versatility and efficiency are evident in her contributions to various organisations and publications, where she excels as a communicator.
Teaching
In her teaching capacity, Veronica lectures in the new MPharm program for undergraduates and also in the Postgraduate independent prescribing programs at MSOP.
Professional
Professionally, Veronica is a registered Pharmacist and a member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, UK Clinical Pharmacist Association.
