About

Teresa became a registered general nurse in 1992 and has had a long career in Primary Care. She is a senior nurse within a large practice based in Gillingham, Kent with specialist qualifications and experience in chronic disease management, minor illness and women’s health.

She was also a commissioned officer in the Queen Alexander Royal Army Nursing Corp in the Army Reserve from 1999-2007, where she was a member of the medical training team. She was mobilised for active service in Op Telic, Iraq in February 2003, joining a close support medical regiment for a six-month tour.

Teresa qualified as a non medical prescriber with the School of Pharmacy in 2014 and the following year started working in the Post Graduate teaching team. She now teaches and assesses across a broad range of subjects in both postgraduate and undergraduate studies, most recently becoming a scoping lead in respiratory for the new MPharm Year 4 prescribing module. Teresa is a dedicated and motivated clinician, who thoroughly enjoys helping support future independent prescribers and pharmacy students. She now works in her academic role for four days a week but continues to work in clinical practice as an advanced nurse for one day a week.
