About
My research is focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying the ability of cancer cells and malignant tumours to escape immune surveillance. I am interested in cross-links between immune checkpoint proteins and pathways, which allow them to operate successful cancer immune evasion machinery. In particular, I am interested in regultation of activity and cross-links between galevctin-9, V-domain Ig suppressor of T cell activation (VISTA), Programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1), indoleamine-2,3-dioxygenase/L-kynurenine pathway and Tim-3 protein. I study activation of these pathways during malignant transformation and their cross-links aiming to achieve successful immune evasion.
