Research interests

My research interest is centred on identifying and alleviating patient issues to improve patient outcomes by enhancing healthcare system workflow and patient empowerment. The aim of my research is to investigate burden associated with medicines use specifically for people with epilepsy (PwE). For my PhD study, I use mixed-methodologies, including psychometric tool validation to measure patient medicines burden; patient interviews to interrogate medicines issues and healthcare professional interviews and focus groups to identify systemic pain-points of communication during PwE-doctor consultation. This information will be used in conjunction with user-experience principles to develop a patient-led online reporting platform which will be validated by both PwE and healthcare professionals and piloted tested with PwE in the healthcare setting.
